Why Should I Book With ShorexIceland?

We are a team of professionals, specializing in shore excursions in Iceland for over 36 years.  We custom tailor all our shore excursions for your ship while  in port so you will definitely not miss your ship´s departure. All our tours begin and end at your ship´s pier, which means that we do not pick-up other passengers at hotels or other pick-up points around the city. All of our shore excursions have very competitive prices, lower than you will find from competitive sources.

What will happen if my cruise ship will not arrive at the port?

If the ship does not arrive to a port where you have booked and purchased a shore excursion, you will receive a full refund or an invoice for the same amount for shore excursion at another port in Iceland at your choice. Please allow 7-10 business days for the credit to post to your account.

What if the ship gets delayed?

In the cases where the time allows we will move the timing of the tour. If the time will not allow for it we cancel the tour and refund. In that case Please allow 7-10 business days for the credit to post to your account.

Can we make a group booking?

Yes, you are more than welcome to do a group booking. Please contact us for a quotation for 10 persons or more for even more favorable rates.

How can I find my excursion?

You will see our representatives clearly marked with our logo at the pier, by your arrival gate.

Are there any age, mobility or physical restrictions?

Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or an adult over 18 years at time of travel.

Although we strive to make our excursions available to all, inherent tour venue limitations  and/or adventure-based itineraries may limit the ability of guests with special needs to participate in certain excursions.  It is therefore your responsibility to notify us of any special needs which may affect your ability to participate.  We reserve the right to turn away guests which can not be accommodated without making special arrangements, or which may incur additional costs – in the case we were  not notified at time of tour reservation. Please refer to each tour description for accessibility.

What about gratuities (tips) ?

Gratuities are not mandatory in Iceland and are not included in your tour. However if your experience with the tour, guide and driver was good,  they will be delighted to receive gratitude for a job well done!

Do you have children prices?

Yes, on the majority of our tours we offer special dicounted prices for children. Most tours carry up to 50% discount from our adult rates. However, on some tours there is a lower or no discount offered for children. Please refer to a specific tour on our booking site for details.

What should I wear during my excursion?

Weather in Iceland can be unpredictable. The weather during a typical summer day in Iceland can vary from 10°c -25°c  (50°F-77°F). We recommend dressing in accordance with weather. Warm layered clothing is advised as are good, sturdy shoes (preferably hiking boots).

Which Currency will be charged to my card?

Your card will be charged in USD. You can see how much that equals to in your currency by using the Currency Converter on the booking site. This Converter is updated on a daily basis for accuracy.

Is the local currency, Icelandic Kronur, necessary on the excursion?

No, you do not need to carry local currency with you. All places where we stop accept foreign currency (only notes, not coins) such as USD, GBP or EUR. They also accept all major international credit cards. However, if purchasing with foreign notes, the stores will most likely give exchange back in ISK, Icelandic Krona.
